Branding of the commercial space – materials and innovations

In the past, when branding a commercial site, standard branding materials were used – solid, sandblasted and perforated foils, vinyls and signs. But with the development of the industry and the arrival of new interior trends, more and more new media are coming into use.

Decorative Films

While decorative films were recently limited to sandblasted films and solid films for printing and cutting, they now extend to films that imitate various natural surfaces – wood, stone, marble, granite, metals, leather, and a wealth of other artistic options. These imitations of natural materials are exceptionally good because the surface texture is clearly defined and perfectly resembles the corresponding material. Not only to the touch but also visually, one can sense the wood grain, leather texture, and so on.

They can be applied for installation on walls or furniture panels. This allows, for example, an entire large wall to be covered with wood-imitating film in a short time and at a much better price than using furniture panels. When redesigning and refreshing the atmosphere and furnishings of venues, hotels, and restaurants, these films are extremely useful, not only due to their variety but also because of their budget-friendly execution.

The variety is enormous, not only in natural material imitations but also in artistic options, which literally give ‘wings’ to interior designers when bringing their ideas to life.

Textiles

Textiles have become a widely used material for branding commercial spaces. They give a ‘homey’ feel and make customers feel comfortable. Textiles can be used both in individual elements and for full-scale branding of the premises.

Full-scale branding is a more complex approach that allows for comprehensive branding of spaces with textiles. We use the latest German technology for this. It can be applied to individual walls or ceilings. With this method, the printed design on fabric is stretched over specially pre-mounted elements on the wall, which become invisible after the fabric is stretched. This technique also allows for the installation of brackets for switches, outlets, light fixtures, and access and ventilation openings on the walls. It can also save you the need for plastering, fine wall smoothing, and painting—processes that require time for completion and drying, skilled craftsmen, and significant cleaning afterward. Furthermore, the execution times are much shorter and more budget-friendly compared to traditional renovation methods.

For partial branding with fabric, individual elements can be used, one of which is textile frames, which can either be illuminated or non-illuminated. In these, the fabric is fitted into a special frame using a silicone strip, or kedar. This allows you to have an unlimited number of designs printed on fabric for one frame, which you can easily change yourself without professional skills.

Textiles can also be used in the creation of acoustic panels, which are designed to absorb sound and reduce acoustics. Besides their sound-absorbing function, the panels can also serve as a branding tool. They can be printed with the company’s logo and colors, thus combining aesthetics with functionality.
Curtains and draperies made from branded textiles featuring visual elements from the rest of the interior, or colors and elements from your corporate identity, can be used to divide spaces, create privacy, or simply complement the interior. Like textile frames, curtains can be easily changed when you decide to refresh your space.

Upholstered furniture with branded textiles can support the brand in a subtle yet effective way. Fabrics with the company’s logo or colors can be used to upholster sofas, armchairs, chairs, and decorative cushions.

What are the advantages of using textiles? First and foremost, it’s the lightness of the material and its easy installation, which is especially useful when frequent changes in the advertising design are required or when it’s for a temporary purpose. In terms of environmental sustainability, fabric is preferable to other options like films or vinyl. Finally, the soft, natural appearance of textiles adds aesthetic value, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
